2018 is promising to be a very productive writing year for me, with two wonderful residencies now confirmed. First up, I’m delighted to be receiving a Varuna Residency Fellowship to complete my first historical fiction, The Fourteenth Wife.
Set in Essex, UK, the story is based on writings by Daniel Defoe, about his meetings with men who had buried multiple wives in their lifetime(s).
From previous visits, I know Varuna to be a special place for deep concentration and writerly comradeship. Let’s hope it’s also the magic ingredient for completing my second novel…
